What services are offered?
All types of pickleball training, including clinics, as well as one-time or recurring individual lessons and group lessons:
- Fundamentals: learn how to play the game in a fun, non-threatening atmosphere
- Game improvement: get help with the game as a whole, or concentrate on individual strokes/techniques or pickleball strategy
- Drills – you may execute a given stroke very few times within a game. The best way to improve stroke technique is by repeating the same stroke over and over – i.e., drilling. But you need to make sure the habits you are engraining are the correct ones! While we drill, I will be watching your technique and helping you make minor corrections to improve the stroke.
- Game analysis – I will watch your game (or play a game with you) and offer comments suggestions throughout. (All players must agree to doing this.)
I have never played. Do I need to buy a paddle before my lesson?
- No. In fact, I recommend you wait. I have a number of demo paddles for you to try. It’s important to find a paddle that feels good to you, so I recommend you try several during a lesson.
- I will also provide you with a discount code good at engagepickleball.com on all their merchandise – even sale items! DM me for the code and details, or I will give it to you at the lesson.
What does a lesson cost?
- There are no set fees! I operate on a “Pay What It’s Worth To You” basis. I understand that we are all at different places financially. But I want you to have the chance to learn and improve regardless of your situation. I trust that you will compensate me according to what a lesson is worth to you and what you are able to afford.
- Take a lesson or a clinic, decide what it was worth to you and that’s what you pay. If the lesson had no value or you simply can’t afford even a few dollars, pay nothing. I’m not worried – I think you will find the lesson was quite beneficial!

Can I choose the location?
Absolutely! I have some locations that I typically use. But I am happy to provide a lesson at a court that you are able to access, assuming it is in the Indianapolis Metro area. I can supply the net, if that is needed.
